Direction 1Tegheri monastery complex

Tegheri monastery complex, towering on the edge of a deep gorge, was built in 1213-1232 on the initiative of Vare Vachutyan, the wife of a member of the Vachutyan princely family.

Direction 2Monument group of Zovuni

The Poghos-Petros church, flooded by the reservoir, was a pagan shrine before adaptation of Christianity.

Direction 3Amberd

Built in X-XIII century period, the Amberd fortress was an important military defense base of the Armenian Bagratunyats kingdom and had a reputation of impregnability.
