Safety

BEFORE DEPARTURE, IT IS ESSENTIAL TO
  • Check your identification documents. Ensure that your passport is valid for at least six months. Prepare the necessary identification documents for children.
  • Take your driver's license, military booklet, official certification of employment, or any other documents that verify your identity and status.
  • Check the visa requirement and its validity period, if a visa is necessary for traveling to the specific country.
  • Obtain health insurance if it is mandatory for entry into the country; if not mandatory, it is recommended for your safety.
  • Check that your itinerary and the dates for entry and exit fully match the information on your tickets. For all types of transportation, travel documents should be issued under the same surname as in the passport.
  • Take your travel vouchers, hotel reservation confirmations, tourist vouchers, official invitations, and any other necessary documents you will need during your trip.
  • Check the validity of your bank cards. Verify with your bank what conditions apply for using your cards in the designated country.
  • Keep a certain amount of cash with you in case of unforeseen situations.
  • Place a mandatory label on your luggage indicating your name, surname, and phone number. This will help locate your luggage in case it gets lost.
WHAT TO DO IF YOU LOSE YOUR LUGGAGE
  • 1. Look for the “Lost and Found” desk at the airport. These are available at almost all international airports. If the airport is small, you should approach the information desk of the airline that operated the flight. If neither option is possible, contact the airport administration.
  • 2. Fill out a special lost luggage report form in English. You must include the flight number, a detailed description of your luggage (and any information that will help quickly locate it), and leave the address where the luggage should be delivered if found. You may also be asked to provide documents and other details.
  • 3. The report should be completed in two copies, one of which will be given to you. This is an important document for later requesting compensation from the airline if the luggage is not found.
  • 4. After completing the report, there are three possible outcomes: the luggage will be found intact within 21 days after the flight, the luggage will be found within the first three weeks, but it will be damaged, or the luggage will never be found. In the last two cases, the airline is obliged to compensate for the damage.
  • 5. If you find your luggage at the baggage claim but it is damaged (for example, the handle is broken or the wheel is missing), you should immediately contact the airline representatives at the airport. They will provide a form and help you file a damage compensation claim.
  • 6. Keep all documents and tags related to the luggage and flight.
  • 7. While waiting for your luggage to be found, purchase essential items for safety.
