Goris city is located in Syunik marz. Goris was founded in 1870 as the center of Zangezur province of Elizavetpol province. The Russian Empire granted the title of a city in 1885. The Old Goris (Kores) or Goris village is in the eastern part of the city, a series of cave settlements. Axel Bakuntsi House-Museum, Goris Gallery, Goris Geology Museum, and many historical and religious monuments are located in Goris.

Places to visit. Stone Forest, Old Goris, Geological Museum of Goris, Saint Grigor Lusavorich Church, Axel Bakuntsi House-Museum, Goris Gallery.
