Direction 1Meghri

The city of Meghri is located in the south of the Syunik region, near the Armenian-Iranian border. The area of Meghri was inhabited in prehistoric times, and it was part of Armenia during the period of Yervandunis and Artashesians. The people of Meghreti participated in the national liberation movements of Syunik in the 1720s under the leadership of Davit Bek and Mkhitar Sparapet. To this day, the fortresses built for self-defense have been preserved in Meghri․

Places to visit. Meghri Castle,  St. Astvastatsin Church, Meghri Monastery, Hraparak Clock, Meghri Old Houses, Meghri Railway Station.
