Direction 1Vahanavank Monastery

The red-domed Vahanavank monastery complex, towering in the mountains of Syunik since the 10th century, is 1111 years old and also comprises tombs of the princes and kings of the Syunik kingdom.

Direction 2Tatev Monastery complex

Built in the 4th century, the Tatev monastery complex was able to withstand the Tatar-Mongol conqueror Lenktemur’s raids and become one of the impressive monastic monuments of the Syunik land.

Direction 3Goris

Goris city is located in Syunik marz. Goris was founded in 1870 as the center of Zangezur province of Elizavetpol province. The Russian Empire granted the title of a city in 1885. The Old Goris (Kores) or Goris village is in the eastern part of the city, a series of cave settlements. Axel Bakuntsi House-Museum, Goris Gallery, Goris Geology Museum, and many historical and religious monuments are located in Goris.

Direction 4Vorotnavank Monastery

Vorotnavank Monastery, founded by Queen of Syunik Shahandukht in 1000, was known for its power to cure snake bites.

Direction 5Sisavank Monastery

Sisavank Monastery was dedicated to Gregory the Illuminator and, according to the 13th century historian Stepanos Orbelian, was founded by the Syunik princess Varazdukht in 520-530.

Direction 6Zorats stones

The megalithic monument in Syunik, the Zorats stones, impress with their mystery; to this day many scientists are trying to understand the secrets of the complex of dozens of vertically erected stones put in a certain arrangement.

Direction 7Areni village

Areni village is located in Vayots Dzor Marz of Armenia. The Noravank complex, a monument of international importance, is located in the administrative territory of the community. There are also many natural monuments: rocks, waterfalls, and deep valleys. Since 2004, a wine festival has been organized in Areni village in October, and Areni is considered one of the famous places for wine tasting.
